Methodological Problems in the Studies of the History of Science Development

The article is devoted to defining and analyzing the preeminent methodological problems in the studies of the history of science development. Science is presented as a universal realm of formation, systematization, and presentation of knowledge about the aspects
and forms of reality. Historiography, chosen as the subject of study, is analyzed as a methodological instrument for the development of science, on the one hand, and as a
special historical discipline, on the other hand. Using the systems and complex approaches and based on the concrete examples, the article defines and looks into three
methodological problems in the studies of the history of science: identifying the cognitive domain of science, evaluating objectivity of the results of scientific activity, and defining the methodological base for research work.
