The HIstory of Formation of the Iconotheque of IIET RAS

The Archive of S.I. Vavilov Institute for the History of Science and Technology of the Russian Academy of Sciences hosts the materials related to the Institute's research organization activities, the scientists' personal collections, a photographic archive of iconographic materials, and the documents from the Laboratory of Scientific and Applied Photography and Cinematography (LAFOKI). The photographic archive of iconographic materials (Iconothèque) contains visual sources on the history of science and technology such as photographic portraits, images, etchings, prints, and illustrations. In 2024, the Iconothèque celebrates its 50th anniversary. During these 50 years numerous photographic documents were added to its collections, forming an abundant scientific.
