Some Features of Soviet Scientific and Technical Censorship in the 1980s. According to the Archive Document

The publication includes a short preface and an archival document from the collections of the GA of the Russian Federation illustrating some aspects of Soviet scientific and technical censorship. The published document is a list of samples of aviation equipment (airplanes and helicopters), aircraft engines and deep-sea vehicles that could be indicated in the open press. It was prepared by the central Soviet censorship body – the Main Department for the protection of state secrets in the press under the Council of Ministers of the USSR (Glavlit). The list of indexes and names of equipment is accompanied by brief explanations of technical characteristics. The document shows the internal bureaucratic mechanism of the Soviet scientific and technical censorship and demonstrates how it was organized in the 1980s.
