Full text (PDF)Abstract
The article is devoted to the participation of Aeroflot in the fight against Germany in the summer and autumn of 1941. Civilian pilots seconded with their aircraft to the front line units performed a broad range of military missions, delivering military supplies, evacuating the wounded, performing reconnaissance missions, carrying food to besieged Leningrad, and participating in assault landing operations. Civilian aircraft crews were often attacked and killed by the Germans but their heroic work did not stop, even for a day.
