Полет ради мира: международный проект «Союз» – «Аполлон» в документах Российского государственного архива научно-технической документации

The article comments on a unique set of documents related to the first major project of international space cooperation between the USSR and the US, the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP). This set of documents is permanently stored at the Russian State Archive of Scientific and Technical Documentation (RGANTD). It was handed over to the RGANTD by both project parties and includes scientific, technical, organizational, and audiovisual materials. The examination and retrospective analysis of these archival records allow to assess the scale and complexity of the preparation and execution of docking of the Soviet and American space crafts, as well as to rethink the significance of historical impact of the ASTP program.
